forty years ago, in Ottawa, out with my Very Young Children to a playground, struck up a conversation with an older young woman (4) about, of all things delightful, Space. Which led to Hawking Radiation, where I thought I was being a clever grownup, but it didn't phase her, and from there I got schooled on White Holes.
While leaving, her grandma explained: grandpa was an astrophysicist and the two spend a lot of time together.

Wonderful grandma story. When contemplating Black holes, White holes, Wormholes and such, one naturally wonders if 'portals' like these could exist on multiple scales? Could we be surrounded by micro-wormholes, connecting our world with remote others?
